
Van Hool Gilbert
Gilbert Van Hool was a Belgian artist born in 1929 and died in 2003. He was an engraver and watercolorist of figures, nudes, cityscapes, landscapes and easy still lifes. He followed his education at the Academy of Antwerp and the NHISKA. From 1949 he is mainly active as an etcher (technical training by René De Coninck). He was an expressionist and experimented also with abstraction. He has made 300 etchings. In the seventies he made a number of watercolors as well.
