Schilderijen van de Belgische kunstenares Camille van Mulders

Van Mulders Camille

Camille Van Mulders was a Belgian artist, born in Trieste in 1868, registered in Brussels in 1868 and died in Brussels in 1949. She was a painter and pastellist, and a pupil of J. Portaels and H. Bellis. She mainly painted flowers and still lifes, working preferably in the pastel technique. Her works reveal an unaffected naturalness and a keen sense of observation. In the 1930s she was still living (and possibly working) in Schaerbeek. She exhibited at the 35th Exhibition in the Casino of Ghent in 1892, held on the occasion of the 100th anniversary of the Royal Society for the Encouragement of Fine Arts in Ghent, and at the Quatrième Salon de Printemps in Brussels in 1912 (including “Poppies and Daisies”). According to unverified sources, she died in 1949. She is listed in BAS II and Two Centuries of Signatures of Belgian Artists (Piron).
