Kunstwerken van de Belgische kunstenaar Joseph Willaert kopen

Willaert Joseph

Joseph Willaert was a Belgian artist who was born in 1936 in Leke and who died in Ostend in 2014. He was a painter and graphic artist. Self-taught. Working intensively as a painter since 1959. Mentioned in the Young Belgian Painters competition in 1968. Works in a deliberately simple style, which can almost be described as naive, initially leaning towards hyperrealism and pop art. First made letter paintings and word scenes, then compositions in very bright colors, in which objects were central and the rural atmosphere was evoked, together with the memories from childhood. Actual objects were often placed on or against the painting with the intention of increasing the reality value (Lexicon v). These objects no longer appear in the more recent work, but relativising humor remained present. Work in the museums in Ostend and Ghent, in the Groeninge Museum in Bruges, in the metro station Clémenceau in Brussels. Mentioned in the Lexicon of West Flemish visual artists V, BAS II and Two centuries of signatures of Belgian artists. Source: Piron.
