Canneel Marcel
Marcel Canneel was a Belgian artist born in Sint-Joost-ten-Node in 1894 and died in Brussels in 1953. He was a painter and the youngest brother of Jean and Jules Canneel. He debuted as a painter-decorator, but soon opted for real painting. He was an autodidact. He preferred cityscapes, landscapes, figures and still lifes. He debuted as an impressionist and evolved into a stricter, more synthesized design. (PIRON)
