
Vermorcken Frédéric Marie
Frédéric Marie Vermorcken was a Belgian painter, born in Sint-Gillis/Brussels in 1860 and died in Ixelles in 1946. He was the son of Edouard Vermorcken. He was educated at the Academy in Antwerp and became especially famous as a portrait painter. He was a knight in the Order of the Crown. Between 1906 and 1930 he lived in the United States for about twenty years, organizing exhibitions by Belgian artists. He was a member of the Art Club in Philadelphia. (Piron, BT)
