Cokelberghs Virgi(nie)
Cokelberghs Virgi(nie) (Mechelen, 1893–Brussels, 1967) • Painter. Trained at the Academies in Mechelen and Brussels under the tutelage of H. Richir and C. Montald. Created portraits, landscapes, beguinage views, still lifes, flowers, and compositions, among others. Also found inspiration for her landscapes in the South of France. Works included in the collection of the municipality of Schaerbeek, among others. Was a teacher at the Academy in Mechelen from 1926 and subsequently at the Normal School in Laeken.
