Etsen en tekeningen kopen van de Belgische kunstenaar Pol Craps

Craps Pol

Pol (Jean Félix Paul) Craps was a Belgian artist born in Uccle in 1877 and died in Drogenbos in 1939. He was an etcher, engraver and draftsman. He was a student of A. Danse and from 1894 took drawing lessons at the Academy in Brussels. His oeuvre can be divided into three major themes: the reproduction of paintings by old masters, portraits and landscapes. From the press: “The oeuvre of P.C. its style undeniably resembles the melancholy atmosphere of the fin de siècle. Yet the theme is not always macabre, as is the case, for example, in the work of his contemporary F. Rops. On the contrary, Craps' most favorite subjects are lovely regional landscapes and forgotten villages and churches in Uccle, Linkebeek or Drogenbos.” His creative activity declined from about 1935 due to illness. He is listed in BAS I and Two Centuries of Signatures of Belgian Artists. (piron)
