Stenne Robert

Robert Stenne was a Belgian artist, born in Verviers in 1931 and died in Brussels in 1988. He was a painter and watercolorist. He was self-taught. He exhibited for the first time individually in Brussels in 1966. Robert Stenne created fantastic, strange little creatures, animal-like figures, mostly in the watercolor technique and in airy transparent color tonalities. His works exude surprise, dream, poetry and imagination. He is mentioned in Two centuries of signatures of Belgian artists. (Piron)
