De Bruin Jan

Jan de Bruin is a Dutch artist, born in Groningen in 1945. He is a versatile artist including sculptor, lithographer, photographer, wall painter, installation artist, pen painter, lino cutter, collagist, graphic artist, etcher, painter, conceptual artist, draftsman and digital artist. He trained at the Minerva Academy in Groningen from 1962 to 1966, specializing in lithography. His subjects are figures and landscapes in which he uses his own figurative symbolism. Since his graduation he has exhibited in the Mangelgang gallery in Groningen. From 1977 to 1990 he was a teacher at the Minerva Academy. (BT)
