De Porre Clément
Clément De Porre was a Belgian artist who was born in Ghent in 1874 and who died in Ledeberg in 1947. He was a painter, draftsman, watercolorist and etcher. Was a violinist professionally and enjoyed his musical training at the Conservatory in Ghent. Artistic training at the Academy in Ghent. Realized figures, landscapes, cityscapes, among other things. Joined the landscape painters of the School of Dendermonde. Impressionistic touch. Evolved into warm intimism, in which sometimes a melancholic atmosphere can prevail. Stayed at Sint-Martens-Latem from 1907 to 1912. From the press: “C.D.P. is the poet of the landscape.
