De Pape Leo (Leon)

Léon De Pape, or Leo De Pape, was a Belgian artist born in Bruges in 1852 and died in Schaerbeek in 1890. He was a painter. Education at the Academies in Antwerp and Brussels, where he received a prize for figure painting in 1880. Painted, among other things, genre scenes, marines and landscapes. Became a teacher at the Academy in Mechelen. Was posthumously represented at the "Exposition Rétrospective de Peinture et de Sculpture" in Schaerbeek in 1908 with De Landloper (drawing).
