Quittelier Henri

Henri Quittelier was a Belgian artist, born in Sint-Joost-ten-Node in 1884 and died in Uccle in 1980. He was a painter, draftsman and etcher. He was educated at the Academy in Brussels under the guidance of E. Fabry, Is. Verheyden, H. Richir and J. Delville (1901-1907). He has realized figures, portraits, landscapes, city and village views, marines, interiors, religious and symbolist compositions. He also painted, drew and etched numerous old and picturesque corners of Uccle. He made numerous illustrations for the magazines Brabant and Le Folklore Brabaçon and provided Grandes figures de la Belgique Indépendante 1830-1930 with 220 portraits. He was co-founder and president of Uccle Center d'Art. he was a teacher at the School of Decorative Arts in Nivelles. We find his work in the Print Room in Brussels.
