Colier Berten

Berten (Robert Charles Gustave) Colier was a Belgian painter, born in Kortrijk in 1881 and who died in the first half of the 20th century. He mainly painted meticulously executed Flemish winter landscapes, showing affinities with the style of Bruegel and Valerius De Saedeleer. He exhibited at Galerie d’Art Vebe in Brussels in 1943. His works were auctioned by Vanderkinderen in Brussels in 2001 (Gate of Lissewege under the Snow) and in 2002 (Village in Summer). He is listed in Two Centuries of Signatures of Belgian Artists (Piron, BT).
