Lebon Charles
Charles Lebon was a Belgian artist born in 1906 in Sint-Gillis and died in 1957 in Uccle. He was a painter and debuted at the age of seventeen. He studied for some time at the Academy in Saint-Gilles where he was a student of V. Gilsoul but mainly taught himself. Painted landscapes, forest views, seascapes and portraits. Found his inspiration in the Ardennes, Brabant, the Kempen and on the Flemish coast. His works usually reflect peace and serenity. Work among others in Museums in Liège, Mons, La Louvière and Ostend.
