Schilderij kopen van de Belgische kunstenaar Pros Bosteels

Bosteels Prosper (Pros)

Prosper (Pros) Bosteels was a Belgian artist born and died in Buggenhout (1881-1964). He was a painter and etcher. He trained as a teacher at the Normal School in Sint-Niklaas, architectural studies in Dendermonde, Antwerp and Ghent. Afterwards he studied painting at the Academy in Dendermonde under the direction of F. Willaert and at the Academy in Mechelen under the direction of J.W. rosier. He realized still lifes, river views (the Scheldt) and especially luministic (Brabant) landscapes. He worked in the line of Courtens and the painters of the Dendermonde School. The initial generosity of his 'Dendermonds' color palette narrowed over the years and the design also gradually underwent a more thorough synthesis. He is mentioned in BAS I and Two centuries of signatures of Belgian artists. (piron)
