
Maréchal François
François Maréchal, born in 1861 in Housse and died in 1945 in Liège, was a Liège painter and draftsman. Above all, he is one of the most important Belgian engravers of the early 20th century. He was also a professor at the Royal Academy of Fine Arts in Liège for more than 25 years (1905-1931). He headed this same institution from 1913 to 1920 and created the first engraving course there in 1921.
