De Pauw Jef (°1894)
Jef De Pauw was a Belgian artist who was born in 1894 in Schaerbeek and who died in 1947 in Brussels. He was a painter, draftsman, watercolourist, graphic artist. Realized figures, portraits, still lifes, landscapes, marines. Witnessed expressionist influences, but his works later also began to breathe an intimist atmosphere. Exhibited, among other things, in the Cabinet Maldoror (Ravenstein) in Brussels in 1925. The State then bought his work 'Le Violon'. Was represented at the exhibition 'Art painters of Watermaal-Bosvoorde' in the Hooghuis in Bosvoorde in 1969 (Still life, pastel).
