Schildeijen kopen van de Belgische kunstenaar Aloïs de Laet

de Laet Aloïs

Aloïs de Laet was a Belgian painter born and died in Antwerp (1866-1949). He was a self-taught artist who initially painted very melancholy landscapes, often with figures suggesting human suffering. During the war years he evolved into clearer work, painted in a flexible, broad manner, in which his own feelings and melancholy gave way to an objective representation. He is counted among the Belgian luminists. He was co-founder of the Eenigen Group and a member of the Vie et Lumière Group. He exhibited at La Libre Esthétique. His work can be found in the Museum in Antwerp, among other places. He is mentioned in BAS I and Two centuries of signatures of Belgian artists. (piron)
