Vandersmissen Leo
Leo Vandersmissen was a Belgian artist born in Dendermonde in 1900 and died in 1966 in Bruges. He was the brother of Frans Vandesmissen. He studied at the Academy of Bruges, at the Academy of Ghent and at the Academy of Dendermonde. He was initially influenced by the style of the Dendermond school and that of his teachers. He evolved towards a clearer luminism. He had a preference for landscapes, still lifes, (church) interiors, town and city views and navies. (PIRON)
