Dasselborne Julien
Julien Dasselborne (Louvril 1873 - 1962 Tournai). Painter. After training in law, he began painting during the First World War. At that time, he mainly copied drawings by Allard Olivier. He received further training in painting in Paris, where he stayed for several years. He created landscapes, cityscapes, still lifes, flowers, and figures, among other works. He possessed an Impressionistic touch, used generous paint paste, and was fascinated by the play of light. He often signed his graphic work under the pseudonym Davril. His work is held in the Museum in Tournai, among others. (Piron)
