Pasternak Maurice

Maurice Pasternak is a Belgian artist born in 1946 in Uccle. He is a graphic artist and draftsman. Education in graphics at La Cambre in Brussels, conducted by G. Marchoul (1963 - 1968). Was assistant to G. Marchoul from 1969 to 1971. Finds his inspiration in the landscape, in man and his everyday activities and environment, often emphasizing the loneliness of the individual and the tragedy of life. He was best known as a graphic artist in the "manière noire" technique. Member of the Tandem Group. From 1980 teacher of drawing at Ter Kameren, teacher of engraving at the Academies in Etterbeek and Uccle. Also worked under the pseudonym Movy Pasternak. (PIRON)
