Jos Jans is a Belgian artist who was born in Achel in 1936. He is a painter, draftsman, gouachist, graphic artist, ceramist, designer of objects and conceptual artist. Education at the Provincial Higher Institute for Architecture and Applied Arts in Hasselt, where he later became a teacher himself. In 1971 laureate of the Jeune Peinture Belge. Painted monochrome and abstract landscapes in the 1960s. The Islands series was created in the early 1970s, followed by portraits of the islanders. Bright and tender color palette.
