Fini Leonor

Leonor Fini was an Argentine surrealist painter, designer, illustrator and author, known for her depictions of powerful women. She was born in 1907 in Argentina and died in 1996 in Paris. Fini had an Italian mother and an Argentinian father, who left the family when she was very young. Leonor Fini grew up in the Italian city of Trieste, and went to Paris to become a painter. There she came into contact with the work of Paul Eluard, Max Ernst, Georges Bataille, Henri Cartier-Bresson, André Pieyre de Mandiargues and Salvador Dalí.
