Nederlandse kunstenaar Peter van den Braken

van den Braken Peter

Petrus Anthonius (Peter) van den Braken was born in Eindhoven in 1896 and died in the same city in 1979. After Van den Braken had decided to start as an artist at a young age, he started working as a house painter and a church painter. He broke through with his painting with an exhibition of his work in Scheveningen in 1922, which was praised by famous art critics. He mainly painted landscapes (village scenes, cityscapes and harbor views) and still lifes, based on his memory and sketches. He is best known for his landscapes "very passionately and with force put on the canvas."
