Van Dieghem Joseph
Joseph Van Dieghem was a Belgian painter born in Halle in 1843 and died in Brussels in 1885. He was educated at the Academy in Brussels. He worked in Brussels between 1864 and 1885. He was a follower of Verboeckhoven. Among other things, he realized scenes with animals. He often added a few chickens and ducks to his scenes with sheep. He was well marketed and many of his works found their way to the United States. Was often incorrectly listed in catalogs with the first name Jacob or simply A. (Piron)
