Schilderijen kopen van de Brugse kunstschilder Charles Verbrugghe

Verbrugghe Charles

Charles Verbrugghe was a Belgian painter who was part of the Bruges School. He was born in Bruges in 1877 and died in Paris in 1974. He was a self-taught painter. In 1907, on the advice of Flori Van Acker and others, he went to Paris where he became friends with Utrillo and Kees Van Dongen and often spent time at the meeting point for artists, Au Lapin Agile. Settled in a house on Montmartre. He was inspired by the Bruges beguinages and cityscapes, but also painted Parisian corners, portraits, still lifes, sea and beach views, landscapes and flower arrangements. Painted possibly more than 4,000 canvases. Leaning towards Impressionism, his subjects were bathed in lush light, as he was also a brilliant colorist. Mentioned in the Lexicon of West Flemish visual artists I. Source: Piron.
