Deputter Thomas

Thomas Deputter was a Belgian artist born in Middelkerke in 1896 and died in Koksijde in 1972. He was a painter and draftsman. Training at the Drawing School in Nieuwpoort. He painted landscapes, dunes and beach scenes, marines, cityscapes, figures, portraits and still lifes. Found inspiration in their own region and in Brittany. Was a professional letter painter. Teacher of the painter Lombaert from Gistel. Was a member of the Kring 46 in Bruges. Mentioned in the Lexicon of West Flemish visual artists VI. (PIRON)
