Schilderijen van de Belgische kunstenares Anita van Damme

Van Damme Anita

Anita Vandamme was a Belgian artist, born in Ypres in 1933 and passed away in Leuven in 2014. She was a painter, graphic artist, watercolorist, and stained glass artist. Initially self-taught, she later pursued education at the Schule des Sehens with Oskar Kokoschka in Salzburg and at the Grande Chaumière in Paris. She specialized in color lithography under the guidance of Piet Clément. Her work has been described as a poetic and mysterious ensemble, reflecting a contemporary sensitivity with nature as its primary source of inspiration. Some of her watercolor suites include "Comacina/Italy" (1963), "Portugal" (1969), "Greece" (1973), and "Allegro Barbaro" (1980). She was also a designer of sculptures in wrought iron, glass-in-concrete, and stained glass. She is listed in the Lexicon van Westvlaamse beeldende kunstenaars III, BAS II, and Twee eeuwen signaturen van Belgische kunstenaars (Piron).
