
Bosteels Peter
Peter Bosteels is a Belgian artist, born in Sint-Niklaas in 1963. He is a graphic artist, woodcarver and designer of bookplates. He specializes in wood engraving. He trained in graphics at Sint Lucas in Ghent and at the Higher Institute in Antwerp. In 1991 he became a teacher of free graphics at the Academy in Antwerp, where he supervises relief printing, art edition and time-based art. In his artistic practice he looks for connections between his expertise as a wood engraver, designer of artists' books and animator. Bosteels is also active as a guest lecturer, jury member, participant and curator of exhibitions, both nationally and internationally. He is a member of various organizations, including IAPA, IPI, KoMASK and ARTos. His contribution to the art world has been recognized with several awards. He won, among others, the Exlibris Victor Stuyvaert, the CMW prize, the Club Der XXII prize and the XYLON selection. (BT)
