
Deraeve Anne-Marie
Anne-Marie Deraeve is a Belgian artist, born in Ypres in 1949. She studied for 18 years at the Academy of Fine Arts in Koksijde, primarily during the 1970s. During her education, she specialized in various disciplines, excluding sculpture. Anne-Marie Deraeve participated in several competitions, where she often won awards. Currently, she creates papier-mâché figures, such as gentlemen and ladies relaxing in deckchairs. Additionally, she is also active as a painter, working with materials such as acrylic, oil, and watercolor.
As a commercial artist, she has frequently worked on commission for galleries. In 2007-2008, she worked exclusively for a gallery in Nieuwpoort, where she painted beach cabins on canvas. In 2023, she participated in Cabin Art in Koksijde, once again showcasing her creative versatility. Her work is characterized by a playful and accessible style, popular with a wide audience. (BT)
