Warie Roger

Roger Warie was a Belgian artist, born in Ghent in 1901 and died in Oudenaarde in 1991. He was an architect, watercolorist, and draftsman. He studied at Sint-Lucas in Ghent. Warie designed several houses and buildings but focused mainly on the restoration of historical heritage. Additionally, he taught watercolor techniques and was a teacher of architecture at Sint-Lucas in Ghent from 1926 to 1968. In 1947, he was appointed consulting architect of the Municipal Commission for Monuments and Cityscapes of the city of Ghent. He is listed in the Lexicon of East Flemish Painters and Sculptors 1700-1940 (Daniël Van Ryssel, 2008). (Piron)
