De Groux Victor

Victor De Groux was a Belgian artist, born in Brussels in 1895 and deceased in Ixelles in 1973. He was a painter and draughtsman. He was the great-nephew of Ch. De Groux and a pupil of L. Clesse. He painted landscapes, city views, old rural buildings, forest and river scenes. He worked in the tradition of Boulenger, Courtens and Coosemans. He lived and worked in Zeeland, Germany, Spain, France and the Dutch East Indies. His work can be found in the Charlier Museum in Brussels (Farm of the Rouge-Cloître) and in the museum in Ixelles. He is listed in BAS I and Two Centuries of Signatures of Belgian Artists. (Piron)
