Goossens Tony
Tony Goossens was a Belgian artist, born in Zottegem in 1903 and died in Berchem/Antwerp in 1980). He was a painter, draftsman and watercolorist. He studied architecture at the Academy in Antwerp, before settling in Antwerp in 1925. He painted landscapes, cityscapes and marines. From 1957 he worked in a cubist-expressionist design. He also delivered abstract compositions. Until 1965 he worked professionally as an architectural draftsman. Tony Goossens is listed in the Lexicon of East Flemish painters and sculptors 1700-1940 (Daniël Van Ryssel, 2008). (piron)
