Nackaerts Frans

Frans Nackaerts was a Belgian artist who was born in 1884 in Kessel-Lo and who died in 1948 in Holsbeek. He was a painter, etcher, pastelist and wood engraver. Education at the Academy of Leuven. Pupil of, among others, C. Meunier and O. Dierickx. Found his inspiration in farm life in the Hageland, the children, farmer figures in the vicinity of the farm and during labor on the land. Realized figures, portraits, landscapes under all seasons, farm and harvest scenes. Leaned towards Impressionism for some works. Was a teacher at the Academy in Leuven from 1941 to 1944. Work, among others, in the museum in Leuven. Mentioned in Crick, BAS I and Two centuries signatures of Belgian artists. (Piron)
