Verster Floris

Floris Verster, Floris Henrik Verster van Wulverhorst (Leiden 1861 – 1927 Leiden) was a Dutch painter, watercolourist, draftsman and lithographer, etcher. He mainly painted flower still lifes, but also landscapes, cityscapes and sometimes people. In 1888 Floris Verster received an invitation to become a member of the Dutch Etching Club. The etching club was founded in 1885 'to promote the practice of etching among younger Dutch painters' and regularly organised exhibitions. One of the first etchings Verster made is the view in his studio. (BT, RKD)
