Renty Victor

Victor Renty was a Belgian artist born in Ostend in 1923 and died in 2017 in Merksem (Antwerp). He was a painter, draftsman, watercolorist and crayon painter. He moved to Antwerp at a young age. Initially he was a musician, from 1956 he was active as a painter. References to music can be found in his oeuvre. Color expressionist. Preference for intimate landscapes, including the Semois region, city and village views, navies, beach views, but from 1970 onwards also delivered work in a more abstract design. Mentioned in the "Lexicon of West Flemish Visual Artists V", BAS II and III. (PIRON)
