van de Venne Paul
Paul van de Venne was a Belgian painter born in 1870 and died in 1954. He studied art at the Academies in Brussels (1882 - 1884) and Saint-Josse-ten-Noode. He was a student of Jozef Van Dijck. He preferred the Ardennes and Flemish landscapes, cityscapes of Bruges. He then limited himself to seascapes, marines, dune landscapes and shrimp fishermen on horseback. It is characterized by its smooth style with impressionist accents. He worked in Blankenberge from 1925 where he regularly exhibited at the Casino Kursaal.
