Kunstwerken kopen van de Franse kunstenares Colette Deyme

Deyme Colette

Colette Deyme is a French artist, born in Port-de-Bouc in 1945. She began painting at a very young age, although she cannot specify an exact date when her artistic journey started. Initially, she worked in a very classical style, but over the years, her work evolved into a more free and expressive form.  Deyme describes her work as a continuous search for freedom in her art. She experiments with different techniques and materials, giving her work a playful and exploratory character. Her work is characterized by themes such as religion, folk history, war, sexuality, and irony, but she does not hold fixed positions within these subjects.  Her oeuvre is often difficult to categorize, and although she is often associated with the Singulier Art movement, she is also influenced by the Cobra movement. Deyme strives for continuous renewal and resists the idea that artists should be trapped in a fixed style or image. She sees herself as a "perpetual seeker," constantly looking for new ways to express herself without being confined to fixed definitions or categories.  Her work combines humor and poetry, creating a unique balance between seriousness and lightness. Deyme's artistic philosophy is inspired by the work and ideas of Karel Appel and the Cobra movement. She believes that art should strive for constant renewal and freedom of expression, without the constraints of expectations or styles.  (BT)
