Langerock Henri

Henri Langerock was a Belgian artist who was born in Ghent in 1830 and died in Marseille/France in 1915. He was a painter and watercolorist. Training at the Academy in Ghent under the direction of Van Der Haert, Van Der Plaetsen and Canneel. Learned the lithography technique from Pierre Vandesteene. Realized landscapes, forest views, portraits, genre scenes, compositions with figures. After his training he stayed in France (Paris, Lyon) and in Naples. Traveled to Egypt, Brazil and the Far East. In Paris he often worked in the forest of Fonainebleau. He was also employed in Brussels for some time. Participated in art shows in Lyon, Bourges, Paris, Montpellier, Brussels, Alger and Nevers. Thus collected more than forty honorary medals and degrees. Was an honorary guest at the Salon in Paris in 1873. Work in the Museum in Antwerp, among others.
