This armchair is a neoclassical-style parlor chair, modeled after the Louis XVI style and likely dating from circa 1900–1920.

Characteristics:

  • straight, slender, and tapered legs;

  • a clean, rectangular seat and a slightly curved backrest;

  • restrained ornamentation, most notably the small, scroll-like flourishes at the ends of the armrests;

  • a symmetrical and refined aesthetic, which contrasts with the more exuberantly curvilinear Louis XV (Rococo) style.

While the simplified lines and subtle scrolls may suggest a faint influence from the late Art Nouveau (Jugendstil) period, the most accurate primary classification is: Louis XVI Revival / Neoclassicism.
