Jansen Willem G.F.
Willem G.F. Jansen, Willem George Frederik or W.G.F. Jansen was a Dutch painter born in Harlingen in 1871 and died in Blaricum in 1949. Originally he was a machinist, but at the age of 21 he chose for art. He was a painter, draftsman, etcher and lithographer. He studied at the School of Applied Arts in Haarlem. He preferred genre performances, landscapes (as a genre), still lifes, animal representations (genre), navies (as a genre), cityscapes and beach scenes. (RKD)
