Van Voorden August Willem

August Willem van Voorden was a Dutch artist who was born in Rotterdam in 1881 and who died there in 1921. He was a painter, decorative painter, draftsman and watercolorist. He is sometimes also called 'the Breitner' of Rotterdam. He was educated at the Academy of Visual Arts (Rotterdam). His subjects were village views, figure representations, harbor views, landscapes (genre), portraits, cityscapes and still lifes. (RKD)
