This piece of furniture is best described as Neoclassical in the Louis XVI style, possibly with a slight Directoire influence. The austere, symmetrical structure, straight lines, narrow tapering legs, rectangular glass panels, and finely framed cabinet doors are typical features.
The style refers to ca. 1770–1800. The warm mahogany or reddish-brown wood, the small gilded accents, and the strictly geometric ornaments fit well with this elegant, classical design language. It is therefore not distinctly Baroque or Rococo, but a more restrained, architectural French style.
