Remarks: A pannepot (also known as a panneschuit or panneboot) was the type of boat used for coastal fishing in De Panne. Thanks to their rounded hulls, these boats could be hauled onto the beach and left to rest 'dry' more easily. However, 'easily' is a relative term, as this arduous task caused many fishermen from De Panne to suffer from hernias.
