Pas Wilfried

Wilfried Pas is a Belgian artist who was born in 1940 in Londerzeel and who died in Antwerp in 2017. He was a sculptor, draftsman and graphic artist. Training at Sint-Lucas in Brussels, at the Academy and at the Higher Institute in Antwerp. State Prize Berthe Art in 1966. On the one hand designer of (official) statues such as the Karel Van De Woestyne monument for the Sint-Marnix circle in Brussels, the Willem Elschot and the Paul Van Ostayen monument for Antwerp, on the other hand designer of sculptures built up from disposable materials and objects, which sometimes testify to despair and inner torment. From the press: 'In the oeuvre of W.P. one can recognize two antipodes. The immersion in a post-war disruption and the serenity of a classical interpretation.' (R.D.C.) became a teacher at the Academy in Antwerp (Piron)
