Tessely Stephaan

Stephaan Tessely is a Belgian artist, born in Deinze in 1933. He is a painter, draftsman, and pastelist. He creates landscapes and rural scenes along the Leie River. He employs an expressionist style, with earthy tones dominating his palette. His works are powerful and sober, sometimes evoking joy, and at other times, melancholy. Tessely also paints and draws visionary landscapes and robust nudes. In 1995, he settled in Terneuzen, Netherlands. He is mentioned in BAS II and Two Centuries of Signatures of Belgian Artists.
