de Beucker Pascal
Pascal De Beucker was a Belgian painter, born in Antwerp in 1861 and died in Schilde in 1945. He trained at the Academy of Antwerp. He became especially famous as a portrait painter of prominent figures. He also painted still lifes with flowers and had a strong eye for detail. In 1904 he left for the United States, where he stayed in Springfield, Illinois. He returned to Belgium in 1910, to settle in Mortsel. During the First World War he briefly stayed in the Netherlands. He is mentioned in BAS I and Two centuries of signatures of Belgian artists. (Piron, BT)
