Beun Leopold

Leopold Beun was a Belgian artist who was born in Poperinge in 1881 and died there in 1949. He was a painter. Training at the Academy in Poperinge. Lived a period as a hermit, but finally settled back in Poperinge. Mainly painted landscapes. Founder and first chairman of the Hoppeland Circle. Was also a member of "de Ieperse Kunstkring" in Ypres. Participated in, among other things, the exhibition of his Circle in 1939.
