
Hovine Jeanne
Jeanne Hovine (pseudonym of FERRIERES, Anne-Marie) was a Belgian artist, born in Brussels in 1888 and died in Ixelles in 1992. She was a draftsman, painter and actress. She found inspiration for her works in fairy tales and old legends. She illustrated several children's books. Together with her sister Laure Stengers-Hovine, she drew the comic strip Nic et Nac for the newspaper Le Soir from 1924 to 1935. Jeanne Hovine is mentioned in BAS II and Two Centuries of Signatures of Belgian Artists. (Piron)
