Blanckaert Rita

Rita Blanckaert, born in Eeklo in 1950, is a Belgian painter, draughtswoman, and graphic artist. She is the daughter of Jeroom and sister of Rolanda Blanckaert. She received training in painting and screen printing at the Academy in Eeklo, under the tutelage of, among others, Luc Verstraete. Rita has created figures, (children's) portraits, and interiors with dolls. Her work is sensitive, colorful, and poetic. She was selected for 'Line/Color/Volume 1975,' and her works were purchased by the state in 1982/1983. She is listed in "Two Centuries of Signatures of Belgian Artists" (Piron).
